How to Make Your Sales Processes Motor Merchandising is a huge source of income for motorsport.
As
one of the biggest merchandisers in the motorsport industry,
merchandising on behalf of high-profile motorsport racing teams such as
Ford Performance Racing, Perkins Motorsport, and V8 Supercars, Apparel
Design was already on a winner.
But like all good businesses,
Apparel Design was on the lookout for new tools and capabilities to
improve the efficiency of their marketing and management systems.
They turned to Dzign Diezel Group (DDG) to help them improve the functionality of their management systems.
Dzign Diezel Group (DDG) found Apparel
Design’s existing systems provided the company virtually no management
tools; they were stuck using a partial web-based system that left them
relying heavily on the systems’ developers to perform simple
administrative tasks such as adding and deleting stock lines.
Worst
still, they were locked into an expensive monthly rental plan which
meant if they stopped the payments, they’d lose their important
business data.
Obviously, this lack of ability to manage the
system internally, coupled with the high dependence on their previous
software developers, was undesirable.
As a transactor business,
Apparel Design needed a web-based solution that gave them full control
over the website without significantly increasing overheads or having
to rely on third party developers to manage the site.
They also needed to be able to quickly setup new race teams in the same system, but re-branded to the team's unique image.
Working
closely with Apparel Designs management team, DDG built a fully
web-based solution that gave them the ability to manage the entire
system themselves.
The new order collection system now allows
retail orders to be placed through an online shopping cart integrated
with the race team websites.
Wholesalers are now able to log
into a special dealer section for product information and order
placement and tracking. They also regularly receive communications with
news, information and promotions.
And because it’s e-mail-based, it’s low-cost.
The
system immediately generates order notifications to the warehouse to
ship orders and generate invoices. This workflow — receiving and
dispatching orders, managing stock, backorders — is all managed by the
web based system, meaning nothing needs to be re-keyed by staff.
The
process of managing an order can in most cases now be completed with no
human involvement, apart from physically packing and delivering the
order.
The system also tracks sales revenue and stock
movements with detailed reporting, using special technology to
automatically upload completed orders into the accounting systems of
the race teams.
The time required to setup a merchandise system
for a new race team has been significantly reduced. The system can be
totally customised for a new race team, and be up and running within a
day.
Fast turnaround and highly efficient service is a necessity for any transaction-based organisation.
Apparel
Design can now offer its clients a complete turnkey solution for the
entire ordering, distribution and reporting processes for their
merchandise.
Better still the company now owns the system
outright and is able to administer it internally, saving them money,
hassle and time.
